Absolutely beautiful little 500 year old sheibel, lovely Rabbi. I went once on shabbes. There is a heimeshe Kiddush on Friday night of 50-60 people and same on Shabbes morning. Intimate davening.

Incredibly rude and strange woman working there, we walked in and said "shalom" (hello in Hebrew) and she shouted at us - 'I am NOT a Jew!!'... That's not uncomfortable at all....

Only a few medieval tombstones and pillars to see but still interesting to learn the history

I can only recommend everyone to visit this museum, which is part of the Budapest History Museum. And, among other things, a house of prayer that is already in operation (since September 6, 2018), where the EMIH (United Hungarian Jewish Community) used to hold prayer classes here on Fridays and Saturdays! We welcome all our dear Visitors! (after Covid 19: We will be Open again from 24 July 2020 !!) Since 1966 it has been the exhibition space of the Budapest History Museum. As for the history of Buddhist Jewry, the medieval frescoes excavated, tombstones from medieval and Turkish times, as well as the highlighted pillars of the other larger synagogue and the arching stone of the arch. Also, as a place with sacral functions again, the natural oak of the place, the wardrobe, the prayer chairs, the menorah-shaped entrance door also provide an uplifting view for the (visitors)!
