Saint Demetrius' Church

Newly refurbished, unique icons, welcome!

We spent a few days in Siklós and we were lucky to see the church in front of him in Eger and so on. It was nice to do it out from the outside, but the renovation was closed but it was open, so we could go as far as we wanted and climb wherever we wanted. We knew many things very kind and helpful. It has to be renewed in every way because it is not just part of the Hungarian culture, but also part of the Hungarian culture, that should not be left out of the way!

Greek Oriental Church In Siklós in the XV. In the 17th century the Serbs settled and in 1738 a church was built with the donation of the faithful, which was rebuilt in its present form in 1783 after its burning. The church is a braid-style building with a single nave, Czech vaults and a depressed arched apse. Its iconostasis and equipment may have been made around 1800. The most valuable pieces of the equipment - including a compartment enamel XII. 19th century necklace relic box - included in the collection of Greek Orthodox art in Szentendre. The tilted tower jumps out of the crowd of the church on the entrance side. The facade and the corners of the tower are decorated with braided vases. On the top floor of the tower is a clock pointing to the four equator. A single-nave, Czech-vaulted building with a crossbar and a depressed arched apse. Its furnishings were made around 1800, while the iconostasis was made between 1840-50. The building was in a very neglected condition for decades. It underwent an exterior renovation in the early 200s, but more importantly. the renovation of the invaluable iconostasis and frescoes is yet to come.
