Szalacska Kápolna

At the highest point of Szőlőhegy in Salacská there is an old small chapel. Behind it was once a press house from 1769, the latter built of huge oak beams decorated with beautiful carvings. The area was previously the property of Count Nicky. In one of the beams of the press house the N.K. anno 1769 inscription engraved. The press house has already been demolished and its pieces erected in Senna, the village museum. The chapel was supposedly built in 1773 and was closed for an indefinite period of time, it was not used for worship due to an immoral act, only as a barn or barn. At the beginning of the 1900s, the chapel was owned by Count Ferenc Vigyázó, which he left to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences together with all his movable and immovable property. On May 14, 1929, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences undertook to maintain the chapel and stated that it would not allow it to be used for any other purpose. On June 13, 1930, he also undertook to pay for the feast of the patron saint - St. Anthony of Padua - and to provide the carriage. This time the chapel was completely restored, renovated inside and out. Then they were rededicated ... ”reads on the information board.

A great hiking destination is the whole area and, if you like, you can go hiking with nature by the nearby animal farm.
