A nice lookout tower at Galyatető. The only downside is, that you have to pay a small fee to enter and the gate accepts only the 200 forint coin. The view is really good.

You need 200ft coins to entry, the tourist center 150m away can change unlimited amount of coins, don't worry, go and ask there, if you forgot. The tower is nice, there are really 144 steps up and 144 down despite what others say. :) The step sides are covered with steel net so it's safe for kids and worrying souls. The top view is clear of trees and you see a full 360 degrees panorama of the area, really nice.

This place is a must when visiting the Mátra. The lookout also functions as a bivouac shelter, so you can stay for the night and enjoy the sunrise the next morning from the top!

Amazing view, totally worth the 200 HUF, must see when you are in the area! They should place more trashbins though.
