The founding of the parish took place in 1773, and the records remained in 1787. In the 1780s, Johann Georg Neuschel, a Tokaj master, made plans for the new church. The exact duration of the construction is unknown, and on November 14, 1804, they were asked for permission to bless the new building. During the visit in 1816, it was described as a solid, vaulted, tower-free building. In 1846, the community built a canopy, but because they did not ask for permission to work, they expressed the disapproval of the diocese. The whole building was renovated in 1880. The new historic style tower was built in 1900. Pál Szalay painted the church in 1941. The current wall paintings are the works of János Szilágyi, a painter from 1974. The iconostasis of the 19th century, which was mentioned several times in the 20th century, was destroyed in the 20th century. At that time, the main altar was renewed, the sacred house made of stone and metal. The iconic mosaics of the facade and the cross in front of the church were created by László Puskás in 1994. In 2005, the exterior of the church was completely renewed with a grant.
