It was built in 1880 by Abbot Parish Charles Kanizsay at his own expense on the kunhalom on the south side of the village. The abbey-parish priest Károly Kanizsay was the pastor of the settlement from 1850-1886. In 1879, he wrote a letter to the Archbishop of Eger, with the intention that he wanted to build a chapel at the highest point of Tiszaörs, in the middle of the cemetery, at his own expense. With the permission of the archbishop, work began in 1879, as a result of which the new chapel was blessed on July 2, 1880 (the feast of the settlement's farewell). On the way to the chapel, 14 stations were completed with the involvement of families, which are still cared for by local Catholic families. Here, some scenes of "Pansy" were shot. The cemetery was closed in 1970. As a museum, the chapel is home to an exhibition of the local history of the town.
