Lovely Old church

Most churches are surrounded but not, and I was surprised by that.

The church was built in 1771 by Sámuel Vajda Abbot in Tihany and dedicated to it on September 8, 1774. The tower was not ready at this time, only in 1777. His altarpiece was painted by György Lingzer in 1779 and depicts the birth of the Virgin Mary. In 1851, a tribal altar was set up in honor of St. Vendel, and is currently under the chorus. In 1899, its foundations were reinforced with a Tihany crop, and a 1 meter high bastion was built around it. The cross in front of him was made by Máté Polacsek, a stonemason, on March 7, 1863. His organ was consecrated by Nándor Takács, Bishop of Székesfehérvár on 27 June 2010.

It was a real Christmas surprise to discover the bell-shaped windows!
