Small Gothic church in unusually good condition
György Pap (01/02/2020)
It is in good condition, a late 15th century Gothic building. Exterior is monumental, but it is simple. Its unique feature is its wide (slightly narrower than the ship) and long sanctuary. I do not know the epitome of this era or of Franciscan architecture. (I saw a similar solution in the Franciscan churches in Szécsény and Szeged - in the lower town.) The interior does not retain many spectacular elements, but it is monumental in appearance.

Beautiful church. It's worth stopping along the way and watching.

Smaller innovations are ongoing. But nice.
Lehmann Jefte (12/29/2017)
Both the floor plan of the church and the location of the tower reflect Franciscan traditions: unlike the general, the tower is located here not on the west side but on the north side of the sanctuary so that the church (which has since been destroyed) can be reached directly into the church. Its walls are decorated with Gothic buttresses on the outside: five on the south side, one on the southwest and southeast corners, and one on each side of the apse. On the south side, between these buttresses, there are six Gothic windows 1.2 meters wide and 4.5 meters high. Above the west gate is a rose window, one of the central hexagons of which is adorned with a stone lattice bladder pattern. The interior walls are decorated with folk sculptures, and the altarpiece depicting the crucified Jesus was probably made by a Viennese master named Hofbauer. [4] The length of the building is 33.7 m, the sanctuary is 14.5 m × 7.7 m, and the nave is 16.1 m × 8.9 m.
