Soviet army base

This abadoned military base is located near Pécel city, Hungary. A short walking trip or a drive on a dirt road and you will see the top of the bunker. The place is free for visiting but you have to extremly careful inside the bunker, there is no lights and the ground is very ruined.

It was not a military but a Government, i.e. one of the stations of the KGB tropospheric radio chain. We know about 5 pieces at home, in Pécel, Szolnok, Görbeháza, Inota, Szombathely. The regiment's tribe was in Újpalota. It was similar to the BARS system, but with less power, With R-410 antennas. Of these, 4 looked west, pointing towards the Inota, Szombathely, Voderady and Jirice bases, while 2 to the east, Szolnok and Görbeháza were connected to bases.

Great hiking place. Unfortunately, the place is quite degraded, stolen. She must have had better times in the past. The base of the presumably officer's building is still visible, the line of the former walls can be removed, the coverings are visible (probably this will be the property's soon :() Traces of fires in the silos, with beer cans.

An interesting slice of the past, we didn't know what it could serve.
