Szép emlék a nagyon régmúltból. Ingyen látogatható kerékpár, gyalogos út mellett. Sok történelmi érdekesség, nagyon kedves ott dolgozó kollega tolmácsolásában.
The nearly 1700-year-old Roman is great
The Mitrász Shrine is actually a good distance from Fertőrákos, on a bike path leading to Fertőrákos, a stone's throw from the border. We can approach it in two ways. On the bike path — not having our bicycle — on the horse of the apostles. By bypass in Fertőmeggyes to the border by car (It is interesting that you can drive to the border on the Austrian side) then a 1 minute fish walk.
We chose the latter considering the relationship between money and time. At the sanctuary, a kind college student was waiting to let in tourists “for free” and punch the price of knowledge on them.
The fate of this sanctuary is very vomiting! The cult of the Persian sun god, Mithras, until the IV. century flourished. He then retreated to “nod” the leaders of the Christian church, which had advanced to the state religion. The abandoned sanctuary was infiltrated by the forest, filled with sediment. It was hidden deep in the earth until 1866. Then two people discovered it almost at the same time. It was found by Ferenc Stornó Jr. and György Malleschitz, and by Ferenc Stornó Sr.. The small sanctuary hid 3 altar stones, two lion statues, 27 cremation graves and a skeletal grave. But the “ace” of the finds was an inscribed altarpiece that can still be seen in its original location today. Mr. Worn Stornó also made a vault above the sanctuary. After 1945 came the Communist and the Iron Curtain, who did not want, did not go for it. He was again overwhelmed by the clayey alluvium. Fortunately, the 3-square-meter relief is now visible. Strange is a work, the saint! The oriental character tells about it.
Mithras in Persian dress is just a bull. The bleeding bull also has to deal with a dog, a snake snarling and a scorpion biting its testicle. Well, it's not a still life, that's for sure. There is even a relief pentagram and an equilateral triangle to make the champions of mysticism feel good too. I say he understood the detour, so he became round the “menu bar” of Fertőrákos.
It's like an economic recovery ... no one has seen.
It is a pity that it is closed due to the pandemic, but the biggest mistake is that no official site provides information about it anywhere.
Unfortunately, it was closed due to the virus hysteria.
