The "Old Church" in Győr is one of the early, characteristic and beautiful monuments of the Hungarian church architecture, which was started after the issuing of the grace order. Although its location, building weight and lofty interior layout are typical of Protestant churches built at this time, its design still has many individual features. This is the reason why the church building is not really classified into any type. The mass of the church is made up of a single rectangle, crowned by a steeply sloping raised roof on both sides. The roof makes up the greater part of the temple's height, so it is understandable that the huge, gully shaped, tile-covered mass is the dominant motif of the entire building. A number of cannonballs on the northern and eastern façades preserve the memory of the Napoleonic War.
The whole church, courtyard, school and kindergarten have been renovated very nicely and demandingly.
Evangelical island, not just for evangelicals.
