At the beginning of the 18th century, a Greek Catholic parish was first organized here. The wooden church was already in very poor condition in 1753, a few decades earlier it was consecrated by Deputy Mihály Olsay, and its equipment was incomplete. Instead, another was built in 1779, also of wood. The construction of a new solid-state church had been planned since 1845, but there were many difficulties in getting to work. In 1848, the church's budget and in 1851 its plan was redistributed to the bishop. In 1854, the landlord offered an old pub plot to replace the new church. The finished building was finally consecrated in 1876 by Bishop János Pásztélyi Kovács from Munkács. According to the 1898 inventory, the belfry was built in 1885. The main altar of Baldachinos was made in 1930 by János Juhász, master of János Juhász, a double-row iconostasis and other carved pieces of furniture one year later. The church tower and the sacristy were built in 1983, designed by József Drobni. In 2010-11, the church exterior was renewed with grant funding. The first wooden church of Encsencs was built around 1720 by the faithful, with the financial support of the Protestant clergyman, István Erős, in honor of Bishop St. Nicholas. It had to be renovated in 1774, so in 1782 another was erected. The present brick church was built in the 19th century. The pictures of his single-line iconostasis were painted by László Pikó. It is celebrated on the Remembrance Day of the transfer of the relics of Bishop St. Nicholas to Bari (9 May).
