Szarvasi Evangélikus Újtemplom

The cornerstone of the New Church, or Millennium Church, was laid on September 3, 1895, as part of a festive program with the participation of Pastor Áchám Áchim and Supervisor Dániel Haviár. It was consecrated by Bishop Samuel Sárkány on July 4, 1897. His congregation was formed on April 1, 1953.

One of the most beautiful Lutheran churches in the country. It was built in 1898 (very quickly: in one and a half years), its tower is almost 70 m high. It can accommodate a thousand people. Its rich decoration is rather rare among Protestant churches. It is interesting that the ceiling is 15 m high and the altar is 10 m high. Worth a look.

I really like it, at first it reminded me of a castle or some kind of fortress. It was built of brick! Architectural wonder.
