The structure of the church and the landscape are in wonderful harmony with each other.

It is a sad memory of the Tartar and Turkish devastation. Its floor plan is an elongated rectangle, the eastern side of which is closed by a semicircular apse. Location east-west. There are side ships on either side of its main nave. A crypt collapsed under the main nave. Traces of the Romanian double window can be seen on the south side of its tower. Traces of a mural made of primitive red and yellow can be seen on the façade of the tower. A document from 1159 calls the church the Church of St. Ladislaus. The material of the church is red sandstone, even the shoulder stones of the pillars were excavated from it, and even the colors of the tower painting (yellow, red and black) were made by the artist. Some Roman inscribed stones were also found near the church. One is built into the corner of the tower. The church was surrounded by a strong stone fence in circles, the ruins of which still surround the building like a castle wall. In a country exposed to Turkish turmoil, a strong stone fence may also have had tactical significance. The priest of Ecsér was mentioned as early as 1334, who "paid twenty-four vile denarii in exchange for papal tithes this year." It used to be a famous place of pilgrimage, but where, according to folklore, prayer was considered salutary only when believers came and returned on the path designated by tradition. It so happened that in a pilgrimage people, the leading priest did not want to return on the usual detour, but on the shorter one. Because of this, there was controversy, rioting, and fighting, and the enraged people beat the priest to death, a place still called Papütő on the way to the church in Eger.
