The church can be visited, the surroundings are tidy. On the adjacent hilltop is the Serbian Orthodox cemetery with very old tombs.
A real gem. After the end of the world with a corner. Accidentally, on the way home, I turned in the direction of the village to launch a sign indicating the monument. There is also a beautifully tidy monastery at the very end of the village. There is also a source of potable water. I really liked everything.
Wonderful, beautifully landscaped, well-kept place. Whoever goes for it should not miss it!
the St. Michael and Gabriel Serbian Orthodox Monastery and Church hides as jewel in Grábóc between the forested hills of the Tolna County Valley. The area is full of wonders of natural beauty. Only a 4 km forest road leads from Szálka here after you have explored the silky Szálka lake, which is also the route of the South Transdanubia Blue Tour. As soon as you get out of the forest clinging to sand and clay after a summer shower, do not go past the monastery, but enter the monastery as a tired wanderer.
Fill your bottle with the succulent holy water of the spring, rinse off the dust of the road from your cracked throat, and then reverently snap into the beautiful temple door to gain admission to this ornate sanctuary.
Allow yourself time to immerse yourself in the ornate paintings, the history of the church, which you can read in several languages. If a nun peeked in the meantime, don’t be intimidated by her thick-rimmed glasses, because she only came to help if you understood her tongue orthodox.
The place is captivating and in the great silence you can almost hear the hairy creepy sound of the male choir of the Orthodox liturgies. You imagine in your loneliness the mass of the ceremony as people cling together as the pope slips past them into the Sanctuary wherever only a consecrated person can set foot.
An eternal experience of the church and monastery in this magnificent green brocade.
Very nice church. We walked around. Tidy, beautiful countryside. We drank from the source.
