Visegrád Spanish Palace The castle overlooking the Danube from the top of Sibrik Hill was the original Visegrád (high castle). First, the IV. century, the Romans erected here a fortress surrounded by a triangular outer wall, each side of which was longer than 100 meters. Several towers protected the walls and in 372 a larger watchtower was also built. In the 5th century, the Roman garrison left the fortress. A IX. In the 16th century, Slavs who had immigrated built an early Slavic castle using the remains of the fortress. The ruins were also in good condition in the 10th century, when Prince Géza fortified the walls. A XI. At the beginning of the 19th century, King Stephen I (St.) made the castle the seat of the county and the seat of the local ispan, and within the walls he built a stone residential building on the southeast side. During the battle for the crown of 1081, the set-aside King Solomon was locked by László I (Saint) in one of the towers of the castle, at that time the tower of the Lower Castle of Visegrád, which is mistakenly called the Tower of Salaman, was not yet standing. The castle was occupied and demolished by the Tartars in 1242. After that, they did not rebuild anymore, but a new Citadel and Lower Castle (Solomon's Tower) were built nearby IV. In the framework of Béla's post-Tartar castle building program. The Roman walls and the XI. much of the foundations of the 16th century palace have survived. The foundations of the watchtower can also be seen on the Danube side.

Recommended for anyone due to the beautiful view, the view of the few base walls is a value for fans who are more committed to history.

The place is well preserved, the walls preserved. About 100 meters down the road is a large car park where you can park for free.

The first known fortress was raised by the Romans at this place and in IV. It was called Pone Navata until the 20th century. Built on this deserted ruin, the Visegrád Spaniard's Castle, the earliest written record of which dates back to 1009, was where the King of Saint Ladislas captured a relative, Solomon, who was expropriated in 1083. The place is deservedly neglected, though it has a magnificent view from here, and anyone who wants a quieter retreat here can quietly retreat to meditation and delight. Perhaps this is what really gives the place its charm, that it is a sort of silence, a memory of the past. It is not as upscale as other attractions, but it is also worth paying tribute to the ancestors' memory.
