Balazs Balla (09/09/2020)
The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Nemesvidi was built in a very attractive classicist style in the late 1790s, when the country was 100 years past the destruction of the Turks, consolidated from the shock of the fall of the Rákóczi War of Independence and before the momentum of the great War of Independence of 1848-49. We could say that this happy peacetime atmosphere led the fresco painter to paint a fresh breath and merriment on the pictures of the church frescoes ... But we cannot say because the frescoes were made in 1852, after the defeat of the War of Independence, when Clear was already clear. Or maybe it’s just that the painter is trying to make the set mood different, at least once again for the duration of the Mass, so that it regains its original meaning. In any case, the master did well to show this to the present and the present posterity. On the frescoes the Hungarian saints of the 19th century. they are gorgeous in century attire. This is how he got into the holy, hussar's uniform, perhaps as a flick of the mustache of Franciscan Haynau's mountain to tremble into the God of the Hungarians. However, I must confess that I was unable to visit the temple with the Saints from the inside because it was closed. I was really prepared for it, but maybe not enough. Therefore, the next time I go to Nemesvid - because I will be sure - I will visit Father Nemesvid well in advance so that the key to the church will reveal the frescoes and the interior of the beautiful church. Its church garden is beautifully tended, with a wonderful little crucifix, the history of which would be good to know more about. On the side of the church garden there is a monument listing the Noble Places, which I have already written about somewhere (perhaps around the Nemesvidi Town Hall): that we know from Nemesvid that the royal chefs received their lands here from their lord the king. According to Fama, these royal chefs were also of noble rank. Thus, in 1725, III. Our Charles of Habsburg decided whether Vid would give the place the rank of Noble name, so he became Nemesvid. On the other side of the road, on the other side of the Tibor Hoy Primary School, the monument of the naming young fighter pilot was a pilot with a flame heart, the only problem was that together with the whole of Hungary, the II. He fought on the wrong side in World War II. I suggest that if you are already a Blue Tour wanderer in Nemesvide, then turn to the ABC detour in Nagyszakácsi and visit the King St. Stephen's Church in Nagyszakácsi, but organize this well in advance, because this is one of the gems of Somogy.
