The building, although spoiled in its original image, has retained many of its original Gothic features and several distinctive decorative elements of Hungarian rural temples. Its value is further enhanced by the natural environment, the backwater around the mound carrying the church. It is a pity that there is no strength to preserve it, and in addition to the general drying up of the surrounding agricultural areas, they cannot keep the water of the backwater continuously.

The church of the Csengersima Reformed parish dates back to the 13th century. It was built in the 19th century near a lake. The building, which still stands today, is home to the Sunday worship service of the local small community of believers. The church, built of time-standing bricks and wooden tiles, is still in good condition.
