The foundation stone of the Catholic Church on Kossuth Square in Cegléd was laid in 1822, then it was completed in 1825 according to the plans of Ferenc Homályossy. The tower, which fits into the main facade, is 48 m high. There is a fire surveillance balcony between the first and second floor. A tympanum adorns the rectangular entrance with a classicistic eyebrow decoration.

It was built in 1822 according to the plans of Ferenc Homályossy, architect of Szolnok. It was ordained by Ferenc Nádasdy, Bishop of Vác, on August 31, 1828. The main altar was Lőrinc Dunaiszky, and the altarpiece was made by József Schöffl. His 14 organ organs were received in 1840, which is the work of Károly Focht, organ builder of Pest.
