Hotel Senator-Ház és Étterem

This is one of my favorite location in Eger. It is a fantastic location right next to the castle wall in the middle of downtown. You can feel the history and the culture radiates from the walls of the building! Actually it is an interesting fact that they used some of the stones from the castle when the hotel was built. Even during Covid they are creative to offer some drinks outside for the tourists and for the locals. The staff is super nice. In 2021 I visited in February but previous years I went there many times in Summer months. I stayed in the hotel with American friends. The rooms are small but super cozy and romantic! They offer a great breakfast. Their menu covers many delicious Hungarian and other unique dishes. It is a beautiful view of the city from their terrace. The main tourist attractions just minutes away! I highly recommend this place! It is a hidden gemstone of Hungary!

I had a lovely lunch here, the ambience of the nearby square is charming, spent nearly three hours on the terrace, enjoying the summer vibes. I did not like their lemonade, it was too sweet for me, so I asked for plain carbonated water with lemon — they did not charge for it. The food was great too, the staff kind and polite.

We had a dinner in the restaurant, outside. It has a very nice atmosphere. The food was really good too. Recommended

Old world charm and great ambiance....highly recommended!!! Perfect location with only 100 feet below the 15th. century Fort built on the city's Castle Hill . The property (which built in the 16th. century!), is very clean, spacious with all the comfort of the 21st. century. Everything is nearby, one block away the hotel provides free-safe parking. Very decent full-breakfast served at your time request. The restaurant of the Senator House facing the main square with open-air seating. The daily menu is selective and very reasonable. Please note the the proprietors are always ready to answer any question one may and accommodate any request one may have and provide useful information for your convenience.

Great rooms with all the comforts. Central location right on the castle wall. Good breakfast and excellent service.
