For me, it was one of the best stops of my Miskolc trip. the graveyard around the church is amazing. There are graves even from the 16th century..

Impressive ancient church, iconic point of the city. Glad h renovated! Next to the church in the ancient cemetery, the restored centuries-old tombstones date back to the past.

The first wooden church from the Árpád era was destroyed during the Tartar invasion. Its reconstruction began in 1260 in the Romanesque style. In 1285 it was set ablaze by Tatar troops, and restored to 1323. Between 1402 and 1989 it was converted into a three-nave Gothic hall church. On December 21, 1541, a part-parliament was held here under the leadership of György Fráter. It was set ablaze by the Turks in 1544. Between 1563-69 it was rebuilt in accordance with the Reformed ordinances. Today's ceiling is from 1776. On October 15, 1834, it was damaged by an earthquake. The first organ was built by József Angster in 1895 and the second Váradi organ in 2006. The 15 meter high bell tower of the gallery was erected in 1557 and has two bells: One 750 kg (1923) and one 250 kg (1926). Its tower clock was placed in 1680, and its working structure was made in 1941 by watchmaker Zsigmond Zsitkovszky. The last renovation was between 1977-82.

Now they are being refurbished, so not much can be seen. But it will be ready soon, and then it will shine in its new old light. HOPE
