We weren't able to log in to the phone number you provided, but we thought we'd make an attempt. We were lucky. There we found the church caretaker from whom we received exhaustive information. I liked the view although the tower deserved a shingle renovation. The surrounding landscape is wonderful.
The 12th century Romanesque church was built in a unique way in Hungary, in accordance with the customs of the South German and Czech mining regions, with a double sanctuary and dedicated in honor of St. Andrew, who is a mining patron saint there.
This type of church is not found only here in the country.
The twin-catholic church of Tornaszentandrás is of outstanding value in the Hungarian monuments. St. Andrew's Parish Church The first written record from the 12th century dates back to 1283. The special double sanctuary and the associated smaller rectangular ship are in XII. It was built at the end of the 20th century. According to some, II. King Mary Andrew's wife, Queen Gertrude, was accompanied by architects representing the Meranian style. While the exterior stands out by its picturesque mass formation, the medieval wall remains in the interior and the ornate side altar from the Szadvár Castle Chapel deserve attention.
Tornaszentandrás church in the 14th century. In the first half of the 20th century it was extended to the west by a Gothic ship. From this time come the arches of the triumphal arch and the walls, which depict the legend of St. Andrew, the apostles and kings. The rebuilding of the church, which became ruined during the Turkish period, was completed in the 18th century. It was started in the middle of the 20th century. The baroque furnishings of the church: a painted gallery and pulpit were made at that time, and during the renovation the medieval frescoes of the sanctuary were found, which date back to around 1200. The monumental restoration primarily preserved the memories of older times, the Baroque altar and pulpit were set aside to the great sorrow of the villagers, who had known this mixed interior since their childhood. The value of this rare monument is enhanced by its uniquely beautiful location and landscape fit.
The apse of the shrine is double, also called the twin shrine. In one of the apes stood a statue of St. Borbala, the patron saint of the miners, and in the other stood a shrine to the patron saint of the church, St. Andrew. The landlords of the village settled the Meran miners and brought with them the tradition of the Twin Temple.
The church slave can be visited by the church, the church slave is a bite-in guide. We got a very busy, rich story in the church tortenet.
