Great place to take the kids. Social distancing worked really well. During the easing of restrictions I would personally suggest getting there a bit later than the start time. Ours was 12 noon -5pm entry and going in just after 1 was perfect as the queues at the start of the trail around the zoo were lovely and quiet.

Just saw the movie that inspired & continues a legacy that fulfills life from humanity as well as an animal kingdom. We in so many ways love & pray for those whom have passed through at the times of war & triumph & those whom have stayed & continued on the legacy from those times of hardships to bring about today’s historical Zoo... It is abundantly much more than a Zoo, it’s a home that God has made in great proportions; sort of like a Noah’s arch... God Bless you all...

Even with the covid restrictions (can't go in the tropical dome) this place has lost none of its magic. Superb variety of animals. Great play areas for kids. Food still served for takeaway. Beautiful grounds. Cheap. Easily accessible from the M3. A truly excellent day out and a worthy cause to support.

Amazing place to visit with your family. The government guidelines are followed and indoor enclosure are closed to viewings, there is only limited amount of people let in and it's mainly precooked entry only. You are asked to wear masks in certain sections of the park, however there is plenty of space for everyone. There are also sanitation stations available everywhere.

This review relates to our visit during the Covid 19 pandemic.nThe first thing that was disappointing is their booking system. You can only book tickets for 4 days in advance. This doesn’t leave much room for planning as you cannot simply choose and book a date to visit that suits you. Also, the tickets cannot be transferred to another day. One of our children was under the weather on our booked day but the attitude was come or lose your money.nThe day we went it was quite wet. We dressed for the weather and did see quite a few animals. However, the facilities on offer were virtually non existent. The cafe was open for you to purchase food but it had to be taken outside to eat. We found 1 undercover area with a total of 4 tables. The majority of visitors were trying to eat sheltered under trees. 2 members of staff were really quite rude and told a man he was not allowed to sit inside with his wife while she fed their baby!nIt seemed to us and other visitors, that once the zoo had your money, they didn’t care about your enjoyment or comfort.nNot a place I would support again when other similar places are managing so much better.
