Dallas Zoo

Had a family day at the zoo!! We went during the beginning of February (yes it was a bit cold) but the animals were all out! We were so happy to see all the animals and get to witness the elephant & hippo chat. Even took some time for lunch and ate by the elephants exhibit.nParking was perfect.nPrice was doable.nStaff were very nice and open to all questions.nBathrooms were stocked.nGift shop was equipped with all your favorite animal souvenirs in which our folks from out of state got to take home to show off.nThe freeway construction was not the greatest but as soon as you park it is as if you are entering another world!

My kids love the zoo.nnThe ticketing and reservation process online is super easy.nnEven though we are familiar with the zoo, at one moment I had to get my bearings. An employee noticed this and made it a point to stop and ask if we were finding everything okay. Great service!nnI can't reduce their score for this but we were a little bit uncomfortable with how many people were there and specifically congregating at some of the more interesting exhibits. In the same vein, parking wasn't ideal. But again I'm not going to reduce their score for this because each person has their own opinion about crowds and such. . . And the zoo clearly does a good job and tries really hard!

Great for the whole family, animal lovers, photographers and well just about everybody else too!! Split into easy to navigate sections. The flamingos point the path towards the various avian exhibits. The herpetology house is a little warm but well worth it. The many morphs and extensive collection of VENOMOUS reptiles is truly a marvel to behold. The Wildlife of Africa section has my separate review of it. Have fun and enjoy. Engraved penny collector costs are $1.01 instead of the usual $0.51.

We’ve had a membership at the zoo for a few years now and we always leave impressed. On our most recent visit, they had a staff member stationed at nearly every animal window offering to answer any question about the animals. Such a cool experience. For all I know, they’ve been doing that this entire time and I only noticed it this time, ha, but still something special.

The zoo lights were so fun this year! It was a drive through the zoo which felt us feel much safer. There were so many lights! We ordered food bags too. My kids are young & they had a blast. I would definitely recommend it. We love the zoo
