In the 17th century, the Cililitan area was a private land owned by Pieter van der Velde. The land is called Tandjoeng Ost. Then around 1924, part of the land was made into the first airport in the city of Batavia. The airport is called Vliegveld Tjililitan (Tjililitan Field). In the same year, this airport received the arrival of planes from Amsterdam which later became the first international flight in the Indies. Before landing in Cililitan, this Fokker aircraft needed a long time on the trip. Because it once crashed and suffered damage in Serbia until it had to be brought in spare parts from its factory in Amsterdam. [3]nnThe airport also contributed to the inauguration of the Kemayoran International Airport by flying a Douglas DC-3 type aircraft to Kemayoran which had just been inaugurated. [4]nnOn June 20, 1950, the Dutch fully surrendered this airport to the Indonesian government. At that time the airport was directly held by the Air Force and used as a military air base. Then to coincide with August 17, 1952, the airport changed its name to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base to commemorate the late Abdul Halim Perdanakusuma who died in carrying out his duties. [5]nnAside from being a military base, Halim was also used as the main civil airport in the city of Jakarta along with Kemayoran. In 1974, the airport had to share international flights with Kemayoran because of the tight schedule of flights there. Halim was also appointed to replace the increasingly crowded role of Kemayoran. But the results were precisely aimed at the construction of a new airport in the Cengkareng area. Later the airport is called Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. After Kemayoran was closed, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport began reducing the schedule of civil flights to focus on military interests. But in 2013, Halim provided 60 slots / hour for scheduled flights domestically and internationally. This is because to reduce the density of flight schedules at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Alternative from the main airport of Soekarno Hatta. Closer for those living in East Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi and around. But, taxi from this airport apply minimum charge+surcharge. Only 2 conveyor belts which often gets too crowded when several flights arriving at the same time.

Ez to reach from central jakarta, Without doubt. However you may consider the traffic to go to that place. It is quite crowdy in the afternoon.

It was a military air base, so it has quite neat & discipline atmosphere. ...nnLike it.
