Gandhi Library, Kalka The library in Kalka was set up 70 years ago with the efforts of social activist Kapoor Chand Jain to commemorate the Mahavir Jayanti. The land for the library was gifted to the government and the same was inaugurated by the then Ambala Commissioner Nawab Singh on April 19, 1949. It is located at Upper Bazar, Kurari Mohalla, Kalka, Haryana 133302 Student of Government College, Kalka, who visited the library were disappointed over lack of good books and demanded upgrading the library and order latest national and international books. Earlier, the Kalka Municipal Council was responsible for maintaining the library, now it is maintained by the Municipal Corporation. The library is also facing the shortage of staff.
