This is a good sized zoo for kids, maybe medium overall. I usually get in 8000 steps just making sure we see the majority of attractions. It has a lot to offer, including a huge playground for different ages. There is a good amount of construction going on at the moment. There are no elephants or flamingos... there are giraffes, zebra, lions, tiger, peacocks roaming around, a barnyard area, camels, kangaroo, lots of birds. There are gorillas but the last 2 visits we tried to see them several times in the morning, and they were choosing to stay in their indoor enclosure. When they are out it's great, there are big glass ceiling to floor windows that you can walk right up to and see them from several angles. The thing at this zoo that I find the most lacking are the facilities-- food options, bathrooms. Maybe that's the same at every zoo. They are in need of updating.

Love the animals. Hi the lions and tiger need more space please. The zebras have more space then them. They look health. Give the tiger a friend please. Thank you

It's nice to have a zoo so nearby the city, and this is a great zoo for when you're looking for a fun half-day activity.nnUnfortunately, everything seems very dated, from the animal enclosures themselves to the information boards about the animals. The restaurant area was very dirty and there was a severe lack of bathrooms throughout the park. During our visit, 50% of the exhibits were closed for maintenance. We would have liked to have seen that on the website or something so we could choose a different day for our visit.nnAll in all, it's a nice zoo to go to if you want to provide an educational experience for your kids, but I encourage Franklin Park to do some necessary renovations.

We went during a slower time of year when renovations are being done. That said there were lots of little babies that had just been born over the winter that were now making their way into enclosures for visitors to see. So that was very exciting for us and the kids. The outdoor play spaces are fantastic. The social distancing directionals are well positioned and easy to follow.

I was hoping to see snakes and monkeys but unfortunately the zoo looks a little empty
