Pritam Niwas Chowk also known as Peacock Chowk is the inner courtyard, which provides access to the Chandra Mahal.nThis courtyard was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, 200 years ago.nThere are 4 small gates, representing the 4 seasons & Hindu gods.nNE Peacock Gate dedicated to Vishnu represents autumn.nSE Lotus Gate dedicated to Goddess Devi represents winter season.nSW Rose Gate dedicated to Shiv Parvati represents summer.nNW Green Leheriya gate (waves) dedicated to Ganesh represents spring.nnChandra Mahal, the earliest building of the palace complex, dominates the Pritam Niwas Chowk.

Pritam  Niwas Chowk City Palace is located in the Pink City, the capital of Rajasthan. This is most famous tourist palace of Rajasthan which composes a vast complex of gardens, courtyards and many buildings. Jai Singh built the outer walls of the Palace but later more additions have been made to this palace till 20th century. The palace is blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. City Palace is the most famous out of the other palaces.
