Bari Kothi Heritage Hotel

Good place to live in peace atmosphere, much fresh air over here and good location for any photo shoot i haven't stayed over here came here for shoot, because the price is really high though they include food all time but its upto choice whether you want to stay over here or not but believe me place is full of history must visit once. ud83dude00

Expensive but its very nice, Peaceful, Home Feel.nStaff's behavior was remarkable.

We were planning to visit since a few months. But due to some unavoidable circumstances it didn't materialize. Finally we had a one day stay at this place.nOne entering we had a nice welcome from the staff with an excellent welcome drink. After the check in which was hassle free we had a short tour of the property with a short history of Dudhoria Estate. Knew about the restoration process. Then we reached our rooms. Nice spacious room. With an extra cot for my kid.nWash room was spacious also with all modern amenities. My kid enjoyed bathing in the nice bathtub. He took bath for three times in a one and half day stay. After a few while we were shown the shesh mahal, gaddi ghar (a lots of sitting arrangement). We had lots of adda in that place with evening snacks with baul folk song.nHad a modified jain lunch. Again roamed around with the curator Mr. Abhirup. A nice guy. Always explaining something about the property, food, change of food, what to see around in Azimgunj.nThen we had the best part of our tour. Mr. Abhirup arranged a 3 hrs boat tour on the Ganges. A nicely decorated boat with chairs and tables and some mattress and cushions on the boat. We saw the Terracotta temples built by Rani Bhabani. Roamed around in village. Then again we went some more boat ride. After the sunset with chirping of birds the staffs provided us with some tea and snacks. Some lantern were lit. My kid again got hyper with the process of lightning of them. Now it's time to get back and the motor of the boat suddenly got stop. Yes, but it was to give us the thrill of silence and sound of flow of Ganges as we were coming back to Bari kothi with the drift of water. On the ghat all the staffs were again there to welcome us back. Had a thali in dinner. We again roamed around in the nicely lit corridors and dark roof with some hooting of owls. Had a nice breakfast with fresh fruits,idli, puri and sabji.nNow the things that were not so good -nThe rooms were bigs and in summer a single AC was not enough. Or may be a bigger AC may be needed.nWe could not able to see the Gangetic Dolphin. Now it's our bad luckud83dude42nAll the foods are strictly veg. For a strict non-vegetarian like me it's difficult for me for more than a day. Although the veg foods were tasty and good enough. I would rather say excess.nGood news for the smokers and alcohol lovers. It's allowed now. But as it's a nice place better not to go very highud83dude01nThe last thing is yes it's dam expensive. But again if you want a Royal Stay you have to pay for that.nnIn conclusion it's a wonderful stay. All the staffs are so good always ready to help. They had arranged an early morning birding tour me. Will look ahead an another stay in future. But please arrange for atleast one non veg bengali cuisine for us.

Great place for peoples who are sick of busy city life. To escape from all of your work stress , and for photo shoot ,even for casual visiting this place good .. And for the Vegan this is heaven. A must try for all.

The place is marvellously decorated. Nice ambience is sure to please you. Assistance from the staff is really amicable. You can enjoy the scenery of the Ganga from the veranda and have a walk to the Ganga through the greenery. But the places too costly for common people. You are sure to enjoy the meal.
