Really good zoo though altitude cause too much of fatigue. Recommended not to bring weak in strength people. It kinda trekking you keep walking on elevated path even inside zoo.nYes you will get really rare species close meet. Recommended to visit.

One of Most beautiful zoo of India. I visited here in 2017 & i can't forget the vibes i experienced. We reached here by walking & it was worth experience.nThe animals here are too active.nThere are many different types of animals which you won't find in other zoo.nRed panda is found here. The Red Pandas (Ailurus fulgens), are very skillful and acrobatic animals that predominantly stay in trees. Almost 50 percent of the red panda’s habitat is in the Eastern Himalayas. They use their long, bushy tails for balance and to cover themselves in winter, presumably for warmth. Primarily an herbivore, the name panda is said to come from the Nepali word ‘ponya,’ which means bamboo or plant eating animal. The species has been classified as endangered in the IUCN Red List. Presently Nainital Zoo has got six individuals.nnHimalayan bear is also found here.nThis is the large forest dwelling bear of the Himalaya and also called the Moon Bear due to the crescent-shaped white mark on its glossy black chest. Its fur is much shorter than that of the other black bear of India. Longer hairs are present in the neck region, which are associated with the protection from the bites of predators like tigers. This bear hibernates in the upper Himalaya. It is fairly arboreal though it does not sleep on trees like the Sun Bear.nnTiger , birds & many more fascinating animals are found here.nThe zoo is located on mountain.

Its situated in a very high altitude. Not very easy to climb this place. As numbers of paid share taxi available. The zoo is well maintained and can see different varieties of animal which usually not found in others zoo.

The place was ok, just like the another zoo. But if you want to see the city view from the top then you can visit the zoo.
