Oottupara is a huge expanse of rock inside the Ponthenpuzha Forest, near Perumpetty and Chunkapara in Pathanamthitta District, bordering on Kottayam District.nIt can be reached after a trek of about 1.5 - 2km through the forest. The forest is surrounded on all sides by human habitation, and there are no dangerous animals inside, except for wild boar, python and other snakes.nThis is a place that would be pleasurable to visit for locals living within a 10 or 15km radius. Not exceptionally attractive to warrant a visit by people from far away places. There are many places like this throughout Kerala.

Beautiful place... Has to go around 1km trekking through the forest to reach the top of the hill. The view from the top is amazing.nWould not recommend for elderly people and small children.

It's a good place to hangout with friends for a day also for morning/evening walks.

One day away from your daily chores...jus be here and enjoy the breeze. Elderly people and small kids are not recommended but those who can make themselves uphill must not miss the view from top. Early mornings and evenings are the good times to be here. Donot litter .nYou can scream.on top of your voice and enjoy the echoesud83dude09

Ootupara is nice place to visit and often you can go there to kill time , i prefer evening are perfect to go there and this place is inside a forest and it might take time to reach there , you can reach there by a forest pathway , it might be a new experience and there is nothing to see much , its a viewpoint
