Had big expectations as have been seeing a lot of photos and especially after Gavi became famous after it got featured in a malayalam movie. I think the Rainy season would be much better. Summer has started so it was very dusty and dry all around. The road were also bad intermittently. Had a lot of anticipation and had booked my entrance ticket online many days before. But we did not see even one animal. Will like to go back when it rains. But if they do not repair the roads it will not be easy even in the rains.

This is the one of the best trip, through kochandy check post via gavi to kumali.Government operated gavi tourism start from kumali to gavi around one hours journey only not much attractive. First mentioned route takes around 10 hours , journey start 4 am from kumali hotel and reaches the check post around 6am.From check post to Gavi take around 6 hours. Only 10 vehicles allot pass for single days. 6 seated jeep charge around 8000 rs(local agent at kumali), they will arrange gate pass as well. Break fast, water and lunch carries from near to the check post. From the check post roads are in very bad shape.Through the journey we enjoyed Beauty of forest and saw lot of wild animals too.
