Nice and well maintained structure. One can climb these ruins using the stairs. Better be careful not to fall. Lots of buddhist artifacts were discovered here, and taken to museum

This is an important excavated monument situated in Maheth. it is believed that It was built by Sudatta who was known as Anathapindika who was the richest man lived in 6th century BC during the Lord Buddha's period. This may used to store his gold which was used to buy the land of Jethawana temple which was the greatest land offering done to Lord Buddha. He offered all of his wealth and became a poor at the end.
