Outstanding place to remind the battle of Plassy and The Nawab Siraj-Ud- Daulla. We visited the near by Ramnagar Ghat too.

When you go there you will get goosebumps, thinking about the battle that took place in the year 1757. A little far away from it there lies the grave of Mir madan, hero of the war. When you reach there you will feel disheartened as there is no trace of the mango garden where the war took place.

England was the first to come here in India, but it still takes some development, some kind of corruption, some development. People from all over the world still come here to visit, but the government doesn't see anythingud83dude22.

Palashi Monument is situated at Palashi (Plassey) in Nadia district in the state of West Bengal, India. The monument was established in memory of the Battle of Plassey on the bank of the Bhagirathi River and beside Plassey Suger Mill which is popularly known as plassey battlefield. But the actual battlefield has been partially washed away by a shift of the river. The place is well maintained. It is a historical place and a popular tourist attraction.

This place gives you the chill down the bones ehen you come to think that India lost it's independency for the next 200 yrs. right here. Place is not very well maintained though. It has a Gate while entering from highway and a pillar at location. Though locals around told us actual place is further diwn the field where you an go by foot only. Place is dilapidated with only one tea shack around. I think this important monument needs a bit more care and promotion.
