Once complete, the Surat Fort will offer to the city a place with remnants of history that would be reaccountable in the documentation displayed and the Surat Museum and SMC's efforts would hopefully be much appreciated by everyone

Built by Sultans of Gujarat Mahmood III. It is a defensive fortress to protect against Portuguese raids in 16th century. Now it became government offices. But if you climb top of the castle ,You can see full marvelous view of city and Tapi river. It is a major tourist attraction in Surat and it is one of the best places visited by tourists. Worth to visit with family and friends.
