Nyc decorationnWelcome to Pracheen Kala KendranPracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh is the premier educational organization which is doing yeoman service for the promotion, preservation and dissemination of Indian classical arts of music, dance and fine arts (painting) since its inception in 1956.nnPracheen Kala Kendra, having its Headquarters in Chandigarh, an enormous sister set-up in Mohali (Punjab), a zonal office for Eastern India at Kolkata, Liaison offices at Bhubaneswar (Odisha) and at Ludhiana (Punjab), a newly regional office opened in New Delhi is one of the oldest, premier and prestigious organizations of the country which is imparting quality education and training in the subjects of Indian Classical Music including Carnatic Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Classical Dances (e.g. Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Odissi Dance, etc.) and Fine Arts (Painting) for the last 58 years.nnEstablished in 1956 and registered under Registration of Societies Act, 1860, the Kendra, over the years, has achieved unprecedented success in its defined goals and identically it is functioning on the pattern of Open University of performing and visual arts. The Kendra awards the following certificates and diplomas to the successful candidates in the above mentioned subjects:-nn1. Prarambhik (2-year preliminary course)n2. Bhushan (3-year course after Prarambhik)n3. Visharad (2-year course after Bhushan) is treated as equivalent to Bachelor degree in Music.n4. Bhaskar (2-year course after Visharad) is treated as equivalent to Post-Graduate qualification in Musicn5. Churamani (Minimum 3-year research after Bhaskar under the guidance of celebrated Indian scholars in the relevant subject) is a Research title.nnThe Kendra is the only organisation of its kind which has facilities to cover the whole gamut of education and training in music, dance and fine arts (painting). The Kendra provides adequate facilities for research and training, supported by extensive library of books, audio and video cassettes on these subjects. The Kendra has a well-equipped hostel for foreign and Indian students pursuing their career in the field of performing and visual arts.nnThe Kendra is a recognized institution which has a duly framed constitution to govern its day to day affairs. It has a General Body and the Executive Board consisting of eminent educationists, social activists, former bureaucrats and artists.nnThe Kendra has acquired professional competence and expertise in holding various examinations in the subjects of Music, Dances and Fine Arts which are conducted through a network of more than 3,500 affiliated centres i.e. schools/institutions of Music and Dance situated not only in all over India but so also in various countries abroad including USA, UK, Canada, Mauritius, Singapore, Nepal, Kuwait, Malaysia, South Africa, Dubai, etc. The student strength of over three lakhs makes it the largest organization in the field of arts education. .
