The Mukundara Tiger Reserve is 50 kilometres from Kota. Tigers are often relocated here from Ranthambore Reserve. It has a core area of 417 square kilometres and a buffer zone covering 342.82 square kilometres. Other wildlife includes panther, deer, wild boar and bear. This thickly wooded area is home to a large variety of birds as well.nCredits:Rajasthan govt.

Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve is located near to Kota in Rajasthan. It is around fifty kms from Kota. This is the third Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan after Ranthambhore and Sariska.nThis beautiful Tiger Reserve occupies the valley spread in between Mukundra and Gargola mountains.nThe Mukundra Hills was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1955. Later Mukundara Hills (Darrah) National Park in 2004. It was notified as a Tiger Reserve in 2013 under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Visit this naturally beautiful place with hills, valleys, rivers and associated rich flora and fauna.nMukundara Hills Tiger Reserve is spread across four districts. They are Kota, Bundi, Chittorgarh and Jhalawar covering an area of 759 sq km.nEarlier it was known as Mukundara Hills (Darrah) National Park. It combines three wildlife sanctuaries namely Darrah wildlife sanctuary, Chambal wildlife sanctuary and Jaswant Sagar wildlife sanctuary. ThenMukundara Hills Tiger Reserve is indeed the New Rajasthan Wildlife Destination one must visit and feel the difference. A beautiful jungle away from concrete jungles. Also, nearby Jhalawar Fort is a magnificent place to visit. Good luck.
