Sometimes just sitting on the ghats and doing nothing is also a good thing.nnVaranasi is very close to my heart, I did nothing for 2 days, all I did was exploring that's on foot. See what people are doing, click a few photos and when I see a good view coming in, I just seat there and see what people are doing.nnI was so amazed when I saw this holy city, evening aarti, simply amazing.nnI can stay here for a long time as well, this city is love :)

Darbhanga Ghat is located south of Dasashwamedh Ghat next to Rana Mahal Ghat. This imposing palace with its towers and turrets was built in the early 1900s by the royal family of Bihar. One of the highlights of this palace is the very early lift that was operated by hand, now said to be out of operation. The Ghat has a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is also a building nearby that is used for performing religious rituals.

Each ghat in Kashi is unique in itself.  The mesmerizing atmosphere seems to be supernatural for tourists, pilgrims and devotees. Among these series of ghats is Darbhanga Ghat, where tourists from western countries are seen in large numbers.nnOn this Ghat a separate Boat Jetty is there and decorated boats were anchored, guards were also available. My guide shared information about this Ghat.nnI noticed the glow sign board of BrijRama Palace. This is a famous five Star heritage hotel and quite popular among the western tourists. It was built by Shridhara Munshi in 1812 AD who was the finance minister of Nagpur ruler. So it has got the name Munshi Ghat and later it was owned by the King Rameshwar Singh Bahadur of Darbhanga in early twentieth century. Since then it's popularly known as Darbhanga Ghat. This ghat and this grand hotel are built of stones brought from Chunar. It is a very grand hotel, in which five types of rooms are available for tourists to stay, where services are available round the clock. It has many restaurants and the terrace restaurant offers a panoramic view of the flowing Ganges in crescent shape.nnThis hotel, rich in all the comforts, is the best place to enjoy spiritual pleasure.  Not far from Assi Ghat and Dashashwamedha Ghat is also not far from here where tourists enjoy the cultural heritage of Kashi.
