This is a wonderful place and my mother's paternal home. My maternal grandfather and his brothers own 90% of the land in the village of Chauhan Purwa. This taalab never dries (come what may). This talab is natural and extremely large. Water is still crystal clean and has a translucency in it. I have heard there that 100 years from now a boat of gold with pure gold utensils and ration used to come ashore and one who was hungry must eat and keep utensils back. One day someone tried to steal it and then it sank. Once Britishers tried to measure the depth at the centre of this taal (in 1950's) but they were unsuccessful even after putting a complete chain into the pond (chain was so heavy that it was pulled by 50 donkeys). These are stories which locals tell. More research needed!
