Going a little further up the Mahadarwaja, you can see the elephant in front of the lake. The lake was constructed to provide drinking water to the elephants in the yard. Gangasagar Lake is a short distance from Hatti Tension. After the coronation of the Maharaja, the pilgrimage brought by Saptasagar and rivers was left in this lake.
