Srinathji is a glorious ivory-white marble temple, which was built by Maharawal Punjraj. The sanctum of the temple features a human size south facing statues of Goverdhannathji and Shri Radhikaji. Along with the main temple, the complex housese several other shrines sacred to Shri Ramchandraji and Shri Baake Bihariji. When on a visit to the Srinathji temple, watch out fot the three storey Goodh Mandap (hall), which serves the purpose of main hall for all the three temples. Various other small temples sprinkled in the complex are worth a visit too.

Dungarpur city of hills was a wonderful destination. I enjoyed my stay during my exciting Road trip last year in the month of January. It was founded in the 13th century since it had attained the attention of Mughals. Thus they were prosperous and famous due to their bravery. They had very good relations with Mughals. Which were established by Maharawal Askaran whose reign was from 1549 to 1580 who accepted the suzerainty of Mughals.nnMaharaval Punjraj 1609 to 1657 He was awarded the title of Mahamratib by Shah Jahan.  As a result, he had the right to have 1500 Cavaliers. He was the 22nd Rawal as Ist Rawal was Samant Singh whose reign was from 1197 to 1209 AD. They belong to the house of Bappa Rawal who founded the Mewar dynasty in 8th century.nnHe renovated Badal Mahal and added first floor with three domes among the central dome is large one and inspired by the Mughal structures like Etmaddaula.  Shri Nathji Temple was built by Maharaval Punjraj ji, on 25th April 1623 Chief Deity was consecrated after performing all the religious rituals under a grand ceremony. Life-size statues of Shri Govardhan Nathji and Shri Radhikaji are situated in this temple. There are temples of Shri Ramchandra Ji and Shri Bankebihariji associated with this temple. Along with this, fifty-two small shrines remain. There are also zodiac deities recognized in folk life. The shikhara of the main temple is of Meru Prasad type, peak with five flagsticks. The construction of this temple shows a clear influence of a mixture or fusion of Nagara and Dravidian styles Architecture including the Jain temples construction style. Maharawal Shiv Singh ji got this temple renovated in 1775 in a big way. Later, the temple was deserted by Maratha invasions, then in the year 1842, during the time of Maharawal Jaswant Singh Ji, this temple was duly restored. After this, Maharawal Udai Singh ji had replaced the damaged statues of 52 shrines with the new statues which were consecrated religiously. Maharawal Vijay Singh Ji built the front door of this temple in the year 1912 AD. Maharawal Laxman Singh Ji established the Golden Kalash and the Golden Flagstick in 1938. Then under the auspices of Maha Laxman Devasthan Nidhi, Maharawal Mahipal Singh Second established and enshrined new flag and new statues in place of the damage flag and the broken statues in the year 1991. Along with this, Mahakaleshwar has been consecrated in the Cenotaph located in the Courtyard after performing all the rituals. A stone inscription with all details is fixed on the wall.nnThis is sacred place of worship is located just at the bank of Gaib Sagar Lake Dungarpur. It's a major attraction among the devotees and also among the history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers.
