Baidyanath Rajbari

No entry for public..no permission for photo even outside.. I will never go there further

Good historical place which was a Rajbari of Mr Baidyanath Roy. Well maintained neat and clean place with beautiful garden makes the Rajbari a good location. The ancestors of Mr Roy are now living here with full family.

This is a private property and thus, understandably, random visitors are not always welcomed with open arms. The descendants of Raja Baidyanath Rpy lives in this property, who regard their privacy as a priority.nThe house and the surrounding gardens, that once housed a huge menagerie (from which the name chiriakhana'r more and then chiria more has evolved) collected by the Raja, is exquisitely maintained. The lawns and gardens are carefully manicured.nHowever only a part of the erstwhile property is now held by the Roys. Half of it is now an establishment of the Kolkata Police . Another portion houses the St. Ninian's School.
