This is a library maintained by local residents and near by club , in this erase of smart phone and low cost Internet people changed their habit to spend time in libraries and many old libraries we have seen in our childhood are now vanished , so it's a good process to keep them alive like this library , thanks to local people.

This is one of the finest efforts of the Krishnapur colony co-operative members nearly 50 years back . All the efforts have been showing a down ward trends in the younger generation . The problems will never be solved by blaming othersnThere is a general apathy towards reading habits . Smart phone and e books are gradually replacing them . Moreover there is nocertainty of government grants . No whole time librarian , no modern techniques of book preservations . Any voluntary organisation can not run without people's generous help .nWe must not forget these pertinent facts.nPresently there are nearly 14000 books andnperiodicals including news papers.nAt present, there is no committee the tenure of previous committee is over . Now it is directly controlled by the district library authority.nWorking hours 12.30pm to 7.30 pm . Sundays and 2nd and 4th Saturday are holidays .nNew member has time [email protected]/ and monthly rs.50/ .nIt has reading as well as lending section also . Regular visitors are round about 25.nTotal member are approximately 1200.

Not very good. The book collection does not get updated. The staffs are very old and not interested at all to help others and find books for them.
