The name of this ghat itself depicts the significance of this place.The word bhanwar refers to Beetles or bumblebees,(insects which help in pollination of flowers and are famous for making droning sound which in a way is a vibration with a sharp pitch) while dah means a place having rapid water current.So both the words bhanwar and dah altogether mean a place having rapid water current followed by sharp vibrating sound of the water waves.The reason for such greater water current and sound waves at this place is the rock structure which is almost perpendicular to the flow of water at this place which further goes on to narrow down the course of the river Panda at this ghat (consequently going on to increase the water current appreciably at this very place).
