Prizes of the trekkings they offer are completely not acceptable. They wanted me to pay 24000INR for a 4 days trekking, finally someome from TRC (tourism reception center) orginized me the same trekking for 7000 INR (me alone, with an amazing guide, a horse, amazing food, transport, sleeping back, blankets, tent and homestays with the gypsies).nNever buy a pack from Delhi with the houseboat and trekkings, they will completely take profit of you (3 or even 4 times more of the real prize). There is a houseboat owners association (near TRC) where they will offer you a beautiful housebot for your own, for a real price and with a lovely family living in the houseboat next to yours that will totally take care of you. As said, tourism information center can help you organize the trekkings putting you in contact with local guides.nSame with the jeeps to Leh, there are standard prizes: in September 2017 are 2100 INR.

BEWARE, SCAM - BEWARE, SCAMnnYes this Houseboat managed somehow to get itself into the Lonely Planet Guide of India, but the owners work together with New Delhi-based scammer groups!nnWe were loured in after having arrived in bew Delhi and fell for a ridiculously overpriced tour to Srinagar.nnOnce at the Houseboat, the old guy pretends to be your friend and is very helpful. After you caught some rest, his 25 year old son shows up and wants to sell you extremely overpriced treks, jeeps, tours. If you are unwilling to purchase any of their stuff, the atmosphere shifts drastically and your trip turns into a childish show of strength.nnThey started to stop offering us food, gave us tap water which caused me to get severe diarrhea, then they started becoming aggressive.nnAll in all, this is one of the fishiest operations there and they are also known crooks with the locals.nnIf you are already there, make sure not to buy their lies and book yourself a jeep to Leh at the city taxi stand! Those are exactly the kinds of people to ruin your first impression of an otherwise beautiful and diverse country.nnAlso check TripAdvisor and other site for more reviews detailing the scam, they are very good at it. During our stay at least 10 other people fell for it.

Really nice especially if you experience the srikara ride during sunset, STUNNING views! A part for the heavy smokes that you breathe all day long in Srinagar that don't allow gou to admire properly the landscape..but the houseboats, oh you have to go there!
