It's a 10th century monument. But very poorly maintained. Don't know whom to blame. Before visiting the place I thought it is a big historical place but after I visited understood that it is still in ruins. Very bad.. very bad. Careful if you use Google Map. It was showing the backside of the ruins which has no road. Just after the markets turn right if you are coming from railway station road. There's a small board pointing towards the road leading to ruins campus. There is also an Assam Rifles Military Camp near.

The Kachari Ruins are a set of ruins located in Dimapur, Nagaland, Northeast India.nTheir history dates back to the 10th century when they appeared during the Kachari civilization. The Kachari Ruins is a series of mushroom domed pillars. They were created by the Kachari Kingdom, which ruled here before the Ahom invasion into the territory during the 13th Century AD.nTheir origin and purpose are largely mysterious. The pillars are not well maintained. Some pillars still stand in all their glory but others have crumbled down. It is believed that a game similar to chess was played there with the mushroom domes.nThe ruins have long been neglected by the people and the government.nnMore has to be done to preserve what is left of it.

KACHARI RUINS, DIMAPUR (NAGALAND)nnA series of mushroom domed pillars created by Kachari Kingdom in 10th C. It is not clearly known what they signify. They could be feats of achievements or had religious significance.nMost of them are crumbling due to negligence.
