BhubanBari Heritage Home Stay

The owner is very much ill behaved and do not have any respect for women. Very much foul mouthed. He is totally non cooperative and alcoholic. Not at all safe place for women.nStrongly not recommended to stay in this scary house.

The fusion ambience of vintage North Calcutta and its modern contemporary harmoniously preserved through the renovations at Bhubanbari homestay had already captured our hearts when we came across it in the pictures – the reason which drew us to choose it for our staycation. However, our actual living experience there was far greater than words can suffice.nFrom its well-maintained room and bathroom along with a functional kitchen, to its cozy outdoor sitting area on the terrace, as well as the staircase wrapped in Bohemian murals – we are absolutely in love with the place! Watching the sky gradually light up at daybreak and listening to the birds chirping from the terrace at Bhubanbari took us back to the pious mornings in Varanasi. The only inconvenience we ever faced was in finding the place through Google maps, for the location coordinates provided there were slightly misplaced.nOn a final note, we'd especially like to express our gratitude for the lovely hosts of Bhubanbari for making us feel like being at home, away from home, that we're looking forward to returning to everytime we're in the city.

Bhubanbari is a universe of its own. I am so glad I found a home away from home. As soon as you enter, you will notice the artwork and get a feel of an open and honest mind, the rooms are perfect and clean, the outside porch / balcony is where one can spend all the time with the birds and plants. Walk the old steps to Gaurab and his amazing rooftop pad, stories and life. There is no way I am staying anywhere else in Kolkata.nThank you Bhubanbari, you have my heart.

Loved everything about this 1900s house - the eye-popping murals on the walls, the old fashioned narrow stairs, the huge airy rooms and most of all the three sunlit terraces with couches to lounge on. It’s not for people who want a hotel with housekeeping and room service. It is genuinely an old Kolkata home that has been lovingly restored. The owner, Gaurab Pandey, tells the best stories, if you make the time, on his fifth floor terrace under the stars. If I come back to Kolkata I am staying here again for sure.
