Chaneti Buddhist Stupa

A place where you feel so relax and clam and this place is also know for its historical fact

In pictures it seems quite big but in reality it is not that big. Roads to travel their ain't worth the monument. No security of vehicle as someone intentionally mark the scratches on my vehicle.

I visited the place in 1/04/2021. Road to the stupa is not well maintained but a car can go through easily. The gateway was made 3 years ago by the government. Stupa is old. According to a local, Buddhists visit this place in February. Climbing on the structure is not allowed. Some benches are provided for the visitors. A short visit to the structure should take about 15 mins. All things considered, the structure is worth seeing if you are an history enthusiast.

It is situated 3 km away from Jagadhri. There is a grand Tomb of 8 meters in height made of bricks, in the area of about 100 sq meters near the village. Made in round shape, this is an old Buddhist Stupa. According to Hieun Tsang, this was built by the King AshokannThe stupa has been referred by traveller Yuan Chwang.nThe stupa is hemispherical, made of baked bricks which are layered on each other in a concentric manner.nnTo construct this baked brick stupa, concentric layers were put one over the other, each time leaving some space on the underlying layer, so that the whole structure should give a hemispherical look. Thus, this stupa corresponds to the Shahpur and Dharmarajika stupas at Taxila. No trace of stone railing surrounding this stupa was found.

Good historical place to visit in yamunanagar.nBuddhist worship place. Little away from city.nNeither well maintained nor any publicity.nShould spend more effort to make this place famous to attract more local tourists.
