Chhath is a Vedic ritual and the only in Hinduism dedicated to Hindu God Sun, and his sister Chhathi Maiyya. It has also been mentioned in both the major Indian epics - In Ramayna, when Rama and Sita returned Ayodya, then people celebrated Dipawali, and on its sixth day Ramrajya was established.
