Want to go back in life and experince how life was back in 70’s? Visit Bastar Homestays in Bastar distric, They will help you in experiencing the real Indian Village life!We (group of 6 adults and 4 kids) stayed for two nights in this a beautiful little village ‘Chote Kawali’ in Bastar District! The unending paddy fields on both sides of the roads, the local markets, handmade products, breathtaking sunrises, fresh and clean air is what we get there, no fancy restaurants or resorts, we have to stay in mud houses. It felt like going back in time!!The locals were so warm and freindly, they only depend on forest for their survival. They eat what they get, They still follow bartar system! Food was served either on freshly cut banana leaves or in leaf katori’s, which is cooked on the authentic clay oven by using wood and charcoal.Thanks to Harinath Uncle who cooked us the delecious food, using the local ingredients. we got a chance to taste local drinks, wild mushoorms, tender bamboo shoots, country chicken, ant chuteney and the so deleicious poha!Early morning walks with karan and Guddu(Satyendra) were so refreshing.This family went out of their way in helping our stay more comfortable.When I was planning for this trip, I understood this will not be a pleasure trip but to experience life, what it is to stay without much resources. There were no televisons, no mobile conectivity! These people have absolute no connection with the outside world! Our host and Guide Shakeel Rizvi said we were the first domestic group he hosted and he would like to do it more. His work is mainly in protecting the tribals!
